Every body who knows any one has an alternate name for him or her, essentially has labeled him or her. Everybody’s in the labeling business. Everyone is jamming a label on everyone else. These labels might be demeaning and insulting.

Usually the act of labeling people and getting labeled starts from a very young age, right from our school years to our adult lives in our offices. Labeling people is usually an act of demeaning them, usually feeling superior and powerful in some sense or the other. From our own parents to our best friends, every body labels us. Our siblings say we can’t do nothing right. Teachers and other colleagues at work say we are Labeling Peopleslow; we never meet deadlines and so on. We just keep on taking them. Unfortunately we only remember the labels that marred us in some way or the other. Not the ones that really meant something, like the time, when dad said he is proud of you. Positive labels, unfortunately never last to long and die out with the night. Negative labels usually form our identity. They make us who and what we are, may be this might be seen as a defense mechanism by some. Some how we start believing in the labels given to us and tend to push people away, believing for a fact that he or she might not like who we are, we start creating mirages.
